I joined Humap in 2010 after getting to like them and the way they work more and more since 2007. For me Humap UK is the natural next stage of my career as a manager, executive, consultant and coach.
My first career was 21 years in the airline industry. My second was ten years as a strategic consultant and for the last ten years I have been facilitating the development of managers and leaders and organisations.
I think that I have learned a lot from some very clever, some very bright and some very wise leaders over the years. I have been lucky to live in different countries and work in many different industries and organisational forms from the founder-led to the government organisation, the passionate change charity to the mature contract-led not for profit.
I have seen what happens when people disengage and when they won’t let go. I have seen how much people want to contribute and how frustrated they feel when they are not able to. I have seen how to engage and enthuse people to achieve more than they every dreamt, if only they are allowed and encouraged. I have seen great people walk out of failing firms because they were not able to do what they believed or valued and then set up their own businesses to fulfil their ambition to the eternal loss of their old employer. It has been a pleasure and privilege to work with good people and all people are, one way or another, very good people.
